Status update

I know I haven’t been writing much lately, and that I haven’t been keeping up with useful Django articles as much as I should be, but there are reasons for that.

So I’m going to change course a little bit and focus on some non-Django stuff for a little while. I’ve got a backlog of miscellaneous things I’ve been writing and rewriting and I’d like to get them out the door; plus, between holidays, work, significant Django changes (mostly having to do with newforms) and some other stuff, I’m going to hold off until I have some cool Django-related things to write about.

In the meantime, hopefully you’ll enjoy some somewhat unrelated articles over the next month or so ;)

I’ve always said that the quality of the blog is directly related to the time between, “I know I haven’t been writing much lately…” posts.

If a blog no “I know I haven’t been writing much lately posts,” it means the author is writing about things that don’t matter. It takes time and forethought to blog usefully — and if you never lack inspiration for a month or so, maybe you’re just talking out of your ass.

On the other hand, if a blog has lots of “I know I haven’t been writing much lately posts,” it means someone is neglecting their blog.

There’s a bell curve waiting to be drawn here.
