All of the software running on this site is written in Python, using the Django web framework. Heavy use is made of Django’s bundled “contrib” applications, along with several third-party applications:

The blog aspect of the site is powered by coltrane.
Comment moderation is provided by comment_utils, which in turn makes use of the Python Akismet module.
Various useful template tags and text-to-HTML conversion are provided by template_utils.
My contact form, appropriately enough, is provided by contact_form.
Typographic niceties come courtesy of typogrify.
Syntax highlighting of code blocks within blog entries is handled by Pygments, with a little help from BeautifulSoup.
Cross-posting of links to del.icio.us is handled by pydelicious.
Tagging of links is provided by Jonathan Buchanan’s django-tagging application.

There is some custom code running here that hasn’t been released publicly, but mostly because it’s one-off stuff for handling things specific to this site.

In terms of hardware and services:

This site is served from a Slice, running Ubuntu Linux, using Apache + mod_wsgi and PostgreSQL.
Mail is handled by a Joyent Connector.
Static files are served from, and nightly backups are sent to, Amazon’s S3 storage service.
DNS services are provided by DNS Made Easy, who really do live up to their name.
